Video insights

@hiphopofthe90s's TikTok video "Nate Dogg didn’t even need to start singing. The crowd already knew what this entrance meant 😳🔥 During the 2000 “Up in Sm*ke” Tour, Nate was arrested after performing at the Anaheim stop and held on $1 million bail. Xzibit later recalled that the crew started looking for someone to cover Nate’s parts and even considered Tyrese. According to Xzibit, Dr. Dre posted the bail in time for Nate to return to the tour. He said Nate reached the arena at the last minute, walked onto the stage and stood there without saying anything. The audience knew about the arrest and the size of the bail, so they erupted before he even raised the mic. The tour already featured one of the deepest lineups rap had seen. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Eminem headlined, with Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Warren G, D12, Westside Connection and more appearing throughout the show. Separate sets, collaborations and reunions were all packed into the same night, with Dre and Snoop closing the show together. Nate’s voice was essential to that section. By 2000, he had already contributed unforgettable parts to records like “The Next Episode” and “Xxplosive.” There really wasn’t another voice that could fill that space. Was this the greatest hip-hop tour of all time? 🤔⁉️ #rap #hiphop #rapmusic #hiphopmusic #music" has 20,283 views, 1,414 likes, 14 comments, 34 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
