Video insights

@hiphopofthe90s's TikTok video "Big L made every bar count 🔥 This 1998 session came from 88HipHop, an early online hip-hop platform that was streaming performances long before internet video became a regular part of rap culture. Big L appeared alongside A.G., Party Arty and D-Flow, with each MC taking a turn before L closed the cypher. What stands out is how controlled everything sounds. Big L moves from punchline to punchline without losing the rhythm, stacking rhymes while keeping every line easy to follow. That balance of technique, timing and personality is why his freestyles are still shared decades later. The verse also has a longer history. Parts of it became associated with his freestyle over Pete Rock’s “Tru Master,” and a version was later included on the 2011 compilation “The Danger Zone.” By 1998, Big L had launched Flamboyant Entertainment and was working on music that would later become part of “The Big Picture.” This session captured him at an important point in his career, sounding completely in control of his style. Where does Big L rank among the greatest lyricists of all time? 🤔⁉️ #rap #hiphop #rapmusic #hiphopmusic #bigl" has 6,980 views, 339 likes, 5 comments, 21 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
