Video insights

@hiphopofthe90s's TikTok video "50 Cent screaming in the background makes this ten times funnier 😭 In August 2000, Nelly appeared on “Total Request Live” and was asked how he felt about Eminem. He mentioned Em making “sly little comments,” then answered with a simple joke: “I don’t play with candy. I eat M&Ms.” The timing made it an even bigger story. Nelly’s “Country Grammar” was taking off while Eminem was in the middle of his “The Marshall Mathers LP” run, so two of rap’s biggest names suddenly appeared to have an issue. Eminem’s direct response came in 2002 on “Invasion,” where he turned the title of Nelly’s “Air Force Ones” into a bar. Years later, Eminem joined 50 Cent, Denaun and Big Tigger for a 2009 “Rap City” freestyle. It was never confirmed as another response, but next to Nelly’s old TRL interview, it fits almost too well. Nelly later explained that everything began with a misunderstanding. The two eventually spoke in Detroit, cleared it up and moved forward. Nelly has since called Eminem “the GOAT.” Did y’all remember Eminem and Nelly ever had beef? 🤔⁉️ #rap #hiphop #rapmusic #hiphopmusic" has 207,320 views, 13,148 likes, 261 comments, 670 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
