@hiphopofthe90s's TikTok video "Today, we remember 2Pac, his music and the impact he left on hip-hop 🕊️ Tupac Shakur passed away on September 13, 1996, at the age of 25. Although his career was brief, he built a catalog that spoke openly about family, ambition, inequality, personal struggles and the world around him. His debut album “2Pacalypse Now” arrived in 1991. By 1995, “Me Against the World” had become his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. The following year, “All Eyez on Me” also reached No. 1 and later earned Diamond certification in the United States. Those numbers only tell part of his story. Songs such as “Dear Mama,” “Keep Ya Head Up,” “Changes” and “California Love” showed how easily he could move between personal reflection, social commentary and records that reached a wider audience. Outside of music, 2Pac also worked as an actor and wrote poetry. That same honesty and emotion carried across the different parts of his work, helping people connect with his words long after they were first released. In 2017, he became the first solo hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In 2023, he was honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Thirty years later, his music remains an important part of hip-hop history and continues to reach new generations of listeners. Long live 2Pac.
