We feel the system wanted us to tire out and go away because she was "only" touched over her clothes. There is no "only" when a terrified six-year-old is trapped and assaulted in an empty classroom. This is about the system. This is about the adults and institutions responsible for supervising, protecting, and properly responding to our daughter. Our daughter still shows anxiety around boys and fear inside classrooms. To keep her safe, we had to transfer her out of the district. Dropping her off at a new school while commuting in different directions nearly broke me. We carry immense pain, but our focus is protecting her long-term healing. The system failed us with poor communication, lack of school documentation, an incomplete police file, and zero urgency. We are demanding full accountability from J.A.
