Video insights

@theartcoach's TikTok video "Tap the link in my bio to start the drawing drills course. A flying bat becomes much easier to draw when you simplify the entire pose into a few basic forms. Start with a ribbon folding through space to establish the movement and angle of the wings. Then place a cylinder through the center of that fold to construct the body. Now you have a simple 3D framework that tells you how the bat is turning, where the wings connect, and how the entire pose moves through perspective. From there, modify the ribbon into the wing shapes, refine the body, and add the anatomy and details. This is one of the most useful skills when learning how to draw from imagination: find simple forms that behave like your subject, then transform them. Simple forms first. Complex subjects second." has 49,998 views, 3,223 likes, 15 comments, 83 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
