🎬 Adila Sedraïa, known professionally as Indila, is a French singer, songwriter, and producer born in Paris on 26 June 1984. She has described herself as a “child of the world,” citing Algerian, Cambodian, Indian, and Egyptian roots, and chose her stage name out of a deep affection for India. Before her solo breakthrough she worked as a tour guide and built a reputation behind the scenes, writing and contributing vocals to tracks by French rap and R&B artists including Youssoupha, Soprano, Rohff, and Nessbeal. She has been married since 2007 to producer Skalpovich, with whom she has long collaborated in the studio. Indila exploded into the public eye in late 2013 with “Dernière danse,” a dramatic, cinematic single that peaked at number two in France and later became the first French-language song to surpass one billion views on YouTube. Her debut album Mini World, released in February 2014, topped charts in France, Belgium, and Poland, earned diamond certification at home, and won the Victoire de la Musique for Album Revelation of the Year. Follow-up singles such as “Tourner dans le vide,” “Love Story,” and “S.O.S” extended her reach internationally. After that intense burst of success she largely withdrew from the spotlight, releasing only occasional tracks while Mini World continued to accumulate hundreds of millions of streams. A long-awaited second album has been reported as finished in recent years, but Indila has remained characteristically private about timing and details. — @g.o.a.t.songs TikTok
