Video insights

@jack_ofalljourneys's TikTok video "You CAN swim in the Ganges safely 👇🇮🇳 The Ganges/Ganga is often citied as the most polluted river in the world alongside others such as the Citarum but it almost always makes the top 10. Unfortunately the Ganges has become this way over many years, from lack of cleaning initiatives, factory waste, ceremonies dumping bodies in the water & yes let’s be honest simply people throwing trash in there. That being said not all of the Ganges is like that, most of this waste is accumulated through larger cities like Varanasi & Patna, so the further up you go the cleaner it gets - Rishikesh is not too far from the source meaning the water here is pretty clean. The water looks way more brown in this video then when I first arrived because monsoon rains unfortunatley turn it that colour but normally it is pretty blue and here the water is from a scientific point of view safe to swim in. So if you want to take a bath in the Ganges pick Rishikesh or somewhere upstream where you aren’t putting your health at risk (I was fine!) 📍Rishikesh, Uttarakhand - India 🇮🇳 #indiatravel #india #ganges #rishikesh" has 8,452 views, 235 likes, 20 comments, 12 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
