Video insights

@plantwave's TikTok video "Will this tree sing? 🌳 In Japan, we recorded the bioelectric signals of a camphor tree. The honest answer is no. Not the way you mean it. This tree is not singing and it is not playing an instrument. Inside it there is a small electrical signal that rises and falls, and that movement is real whether or not anybody measures it. PlantWave measures it and maps it onto pitch. So what you are hearing is a translation. The thing being translated was already going on. That is the whole reason we made this. A camphor tree can stand in one spot for a thousand years, doing that every day of it, with nobody listening. We did not give the tree a voice. We gave ourselves a way to notice. You are not visiting nature when you stand under a tree like this one. You are already inside it, and it never stopped moving. #camphor #japan #trees #plantmusic #naturesounds" has 6,884 views, 463 likes, 25 comments, 32 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
