@officialarunapepeblog's TikTok video "LATEST UPDATE ON HAWANATU KANU, THE SIERRA LEONEAN WOMAN REPORTEDLY DETAINED IN BAGHDAD, IRAQ! My people, I want to share some important information concerning our Sierra Leonean sister, **Hawanatu Kanu**, who is reportedly stranded in Baghdad, Iraq. I had the opportunity to speak directly with her elder sister, **Isatu Kanu**, who explained what the family believes has been happening. According to Isatu, Hawanatu has been experiencing mental health difficulties, even before she travelled to Iraq almost three years ago. She also explained that the family believes Hawanatu's condition is connected to what they describe as black magic, commonly called juju in Sierra Leone. Isatu said their parents previously sought help from a traditional healer, who reportedly gave Hawanatu a protective lappa. According to the family's belief, Hawanatu later left that lappa at her former employer's house. However, these spiritual claims are the family's beliefs and have not been independently verified as the cause of her condition. **WHAT IS HAPPENING TO HAWANATU IN IRAQ?** According to her elder sister, Hawanatu's employment contract with her former employer expired, after which she reportedly left to live independently. Isatu claims that Hawanatu was later detained by authorities in Baghdad after allegedly displaying unusual behaviour in public, including carrying bundles of belongings around the streets and talking to herself. The family says she is currently being held in detention. However, I have not independently confirmed her detention or the legal reasons behind it with Iraqi authorities. Another serious concern is that **Hawanatu's passport has reportedly expired**, and the family says she has no financial means to purchase a ticket home to Sierra Leone. Isatu also addressed Hawanatu's recent social media video concerning the Gen Z Reporter. She explained that the family did not support those statements and was unable to intervene before the video was published. **THE FAMILY IS NOW APPEALING FOR HELP!** Hawanatu's family, originally from Wellington Street in Makeni, is desperately seeking assistance to bring their daughter back to Sierra Leone safely. They are appealing to the relevant Sierra Leonean authorities and anyone in a position to assist with her welfare, consular support, travel documents, and possible return home. **IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!** Tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, I will be joined by Hawanatu's younger brother on TikTok Live and Facebook Live. **TIME: 6:00 PM SIERRA LEONE TIME.** We will hear directly from him about what the family knows and the assistance they are requesting. My people, regardless of what we believe about her situation, this is a Sierra Leonean woman whose family is asking for help. **Do you think the Sierra Leonean authorities should urgently intervene to establish her whereabouts and help her return home safely?** Please share this post so that the right people can hear the family's appeal. #ArunaPepeBlog #SierraLeone #HelpHawanatuKanu #SierraLeoneansAbroad" has 935 views, 33 likes, 6 comments, 1 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
