Video insights

@itvnews's TikTok video "The Covid-19 inquiry has found that “not enough was done to protect people in care settings” during the pandemic. More than 43,000 deaths were recorded between 2020 and 2022 in care homes. Inquiry chairwoman, Baroness Heather Hallett, highlighted that care home residents were left feeling isolated, abandoned and alone as visiting restrictions cut them off from loved ones, in some cases for months. Matt Hancock, who was health secretary at the time, claimed to have put a protective ring around care homes, but the report said that claim was “unfounded”. #covid #pandemic #medical" has 17,008 views, 472 likes, 83 comments, 14 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
