@justusseasonings's TikTok video "Smothered stove top pork steaks recipe ⬇️ Stovetop Smothered Pork Steaks By Just Us Seasonings Tender, juicy pork steaks smothered in a rich, savory homemade gravy with sautéed bell peppers and onions. This Southern-style comfort food is packed with flavor and simmered low and slow until fork-tender! Ingredients * Pork steaks * Olive oil, enough to coat pork steaks * 1 tbsp Just Us Sazon Supreme Seasoning * 1 tbsp Just Us Salt-Free Garlic & Herb Seasoning * 1 tbsp Just Us Meat Seasoning * 1 tbsp oil, for browning * ½ red bell pepper, sliced * ½ green bell pepper, sliced * ½ onion, sliced * 1 tbsp Just Us Chicken Breading (or all-purpose flour) * 1 packet Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix * 1½ cups water Instructions 1. Season the Pork Steaks Drizzle olive oil over the pork steaks and rub to coat evenly. Season with Just Us Sazon Supreme, Salt-Free Garlic & Herb, and Meat Seasoning. Rub the seasonings into both sides of the pork steaks. 2. Brown the Pork Steaks Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the pork steaks and brown for 3–5 minutes on each side. We’re not cooking them all the way through—just building flavor and creating a nice golden-brown crust. Remove the pork steaks from the skillet and set aside. 3. Sauté the Vegetables In the same skillet, add the sliced red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and onion. Sauté until they begin to soften, scraping up the flavorful browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. 4. Make the Gravy Add 1 tablespoon of Just Us Chicken Breading or all-purpose flour. Stir until the vegetables are coated and the mixture forms a paste. Add the packet of Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix. Slowly pour in 1½ cups of water, a little at a time, stirring continuously until a smooth gravy forms. 5. Smother and Simmer Return the browned pork steaks to the skillet, nestling them into the gravy and vegetables. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer gently for approximately 1½ hours, or until the pork steaks are fork-tender. Stir occasionally and add a splash of water if the gravy becomes too thick. Cooking Tip: Keep the heat low and allow the pork steaks to gently simmer, not boil. This helps the meat become tender while allowing the gravy to develop rich flavor. Pork should reach a minimum internal temperature of 145°F with a 3-minute rest, but we’re cooking these longer until they’re fork-tender. 6. Serve and Enjoy! Serve your smothered pork steaks hot with plenty of that delicious onion and pepper gravy spooned over the top. Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite Southern-style sides!
