Video insights

@gbnews's TikTok video "Netflix's first trailer for Greta Gerwig's adaptation of CS Lewis's The Magician's Nephew has been met with fury from the British author's fans following its release this week. The promo clip, set to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven, appears to have adapted the beloved tale and ditched the novel's Edwardian setting of the 1950s for a more glam rock interpretation. Barbie filmmaker Ms Gerwig has previously described her vision for the project as a "rock opera," with Aslan's creation of Narnia designed to evoke a cosmic musical spectacle. Arguably the most contentious piece of casting comes from the aforementioned Aslan. The lion, who is widely understood as a literary representation of Christ, is voiced by Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep. #Narnia #Netflix #Showbiz #GBNews" has 28,638 views, 1,096 likes, 92 comments, 48 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
