When the Bonohene and the people came from the Amowi caves and settled at Manso, the family of Tanoboase including Nana Amoa Sanka, Nana Koko Tipo, Nana Takyi Firi and Nana Afia Ankomaa also came to settle at the present day Tanoboase. When the royal family got settled in the present day Tanoboase, one of the ancestors by name Nana Afia Ankomaa was possessed by a deity. The deity spiritually led her to the mountains, where he mentioned its name as Brempong Taa Kora, the father of all the Tano gods. During this period monkeys were all over the mountains and served as protection for Taa Kora god. It was a taboo to kill any of these animals.
