Never goodbye…I refuse to say goodbye. Tucker’s love lives forever 🩵 I’ve been sitting here for weeks trying to put the last 8 years of my life with Tucker into words, and I just can’t do it yet. My brain cannot form proper sentences, my body feels pummeled, and my heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my body and trampled on. Somehow it’s been over a month, but it still feels like it happened an hour ago, and continues to happen on repeat. I would give anything to hold him again, stare into those big beautiful loving eyes, smell his forever puppy smell, and feel his incredibly healing touch. He was my medicine. He was my everything. He saved my life. But I also know I’m not the only one missing him. So many of you loved Tucker too. You watched him grow up, laughed with him, rooted for him, cried with him, and somehow made that goofy golden boy part of your own lives. I know so many of you are hurting right alongside us, and I don’t ever want you to feel like I don’t see that. I’m so sorry for your pain. That’s part of why I wanted to make this video. I didn’t want the last thing I shared about Tucker to be my snot filled face crying about losing him. He was so much more than the way his life ended. He was 8.5 years of the purest form of love, joy, goofiness, gentleness, and healing. I wanted to make something that felt like him. The way I saw him every day looking into those big soul filled brown eyes that spoke a million words. My hope is that maybe, somehow through a screen, those healing eyes can heal part of the ache we are all feeling. I also want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. I don’t even know how to put into words what the outpouring of love for Tucker and our family has meant to us. The messages, the stories, the tears, the gifts, the love you’ve shared with us…have been unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s beyond incredible and seeing the community come together like that felt like I was being wrapped in the largest hug known to man. Thank you for loving my family, thank you for loving our Tucker the way we do. Todd wants you to know he’s doing ok. It’s very clear to us that he is grieving his best friend and father. He’s sad, he sometimes looks for Tucker, but he is overall doing really well considering how much he followed Tucker’s lead. Todd is learning his own confidence and it will take time. We are currently working on organizing several ways to honor Tucker’s legacy. And when everything is in place we will share what that looks like. But in the meantime, my plan is to keep Tucker’s legacy alive for as long as I live. As an ode to our old Tiny Tucker Tuesday’s we will now be doing weekly Tucker Tuesday’s to bring you never before seen footage of the past 8 years of Tucker and some videos you may have already seen. I filmed a moment of nearly every single day of Tucker’s life from the day we brought him home, and I am so grateful now that I have those memories to cherish and relive forever with you.
