day 1 of road to $1m/month After hitting back-to-back $400K months, I almost cried at dinner in front of my whole team. For the past 2 years of building this business, I've lost motivation so many months to actually grow. Is it greedy to want bigger numbers? is it ego? Am I just watching too much Jeremy Haynes? This past week we had our first ever team retreat, with 9 of our team members, all in person, making memories. We're gunning for back to back $400K months this month. things had never been better, yet ironically I’ve been feeling so anxious this whole trip. So when i was forced to give a surprise toast to my whole team of 9 at a steakhouse, my voice literally started to shake from the fear In that moment, I realized why i had so much anxiety. I lowkey thought it’s cuz we weren’t making enough money not gonna lie. But deep down, I was scared of losing something so special that we had built. When i was in college, i felt like i left friends behind to drop out, and isolate myself to pursue my social media dreams. ever since then, i think friendship always felt temporary, and frankly too easy to leave. I think i was scared of letting that happen this time too. But this time, it was with a group of friends who i have the gift of working with every day, on the same mission, the same business, sharing the same fruits of our labor. There is nothing more i could’ve asked for in life, and when you’re there, you start to just fear how long it can truly last like this. A lot of business gurus talk about culture like it's some genius 200 IQ chess play. Maybe I'm just dumb, cuz I never planned for our team to feel like we got along this well. So why $1M/month? Obviously the number's sick, I'm not gonna lie — it sounds cool, come on now. But I truly believe $1M/month represents the umbrella of everyone's dreams, being able to keep creating memories and growth for this group of 20-something year old Content Academy Avengers.
