This experience was quite different for me because generally, in India, we don’t really visit cemeteries as tourist places. But here in the U.S., historic cemeteries can also attract visitors who come to see the history and the resting places of well-known people. Cave Hill Cemetery was very old, peaceful, clean and beautifully maintained. I visited the graves of Muhammad Ali and Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC. Seeing the resting places of such famous personalities was definitely a different experience for me. What surprised me the most was how well maintained the entire cemetery was. It was quiet, green and had many old graves and monuments. It felt very different from what I had imagined before visiting. That’s one thing I enjoy about traveling — every place shows you something different. Sometimes even a place you would never normally think of visiting can teach you something about the history and culture of a city. After Kentucky, I continued my trip to Chicago. Chicago has a completely different vibe, especially the downtown area. Walking through the downtown streets, seeing the tall buildings and experiencing the busy city atmosphere was such a different experience compared to Louisville. That’s what I love about traveling in the U.S. — every city can feel completely different from the previous one. Different history, different streets, different architecture and a completely different atmosphere.
