3 things I wish I knew before booking a trip to New York 🇺🇸👇 First up: this hotel. 🗽 I wish I’d known about NobleDEN when I was looking for somewhere to stay in New York. Apparently, according to the internet, it’s about as close to perfect as you can get. And honestly… They’re not far wrong. The location is brilliant, the rooms are clean and a really decent size, and the lowest I’ve seen it is this. It’s definitely not always that price — but you get the idea. You’re surrounded by Little Italy, Chinatown, Nolita, SoHo and the Lower East Side, so there’s loads to explore right outside the door. If you’re looking for a good-value hotel in NYC, definitely have a look at this one. Next: the New York subway. 🚇 I wish I knew how easy it was to use. I know it sounds obvious, but before my first trip I genuinely didn’t know what to expect. Turns out… It’s ridiculously straightforward. Tap your contactless card or device at the turnstile, get on and off you go. And if you keep using the same payment method, OMNY's 7-day fare cap means you can keep using eligible subway and local bus services without paying fares beyond the cap during that rolling seven-day period. So you don’t need to spend your trip worrying about buying individual tickets every time you want to go somewhere. Just tap in and explore. And finally: stop queuing for Los Tacos No. 1 near Times Square. 🌮 Yes, I know everyone tells you to go there. And yes, it’s brilliant. Etcetera, etcetera. 😂 But there are multiple locations now, and you’re not in New York long enough to spend half an hour standing in a queue for a taco. Go to another branch instead. I’ve been to this one a few times and never seen a queue. I’m sure it happens, but nothing like the Times Square one. Same tacos. Considerably less standing about. Usually. And honestly, these are the sort of things I wish someone had told me before booking my first New York trip. Not necessarily the obvious tourist attractions. Just the little things that make your trip easier, save you time and help you get more out of your days.
