Video insights

@int.animalrescue's TikTok video "The dramatic moment YIARI’s rescue team fight to stabilise Nopan, a young orangutan rescued from an area impacted by wildfire. On 4 September 2026, Nopan was one of four orangutans rescued during the first of two emergency operations in West Kalimantan. His body temperature had risen to 40°C. In the footage, @KarmeleLlanoSanchez, CEO of @YIARI, urgently calls for an IV drip as the team works to bring his temperature down. Time was critical. Wildfires had cut the orangutans off from the remaining forest, leaving them with no safe route back to their habitat. A major fire was burning just 200 metres from the rescue location. Thankfully, after receiving treatment and intravenous fluids, Nopan’s temperature returned to normal and he continues to be monitored. Nopan was one of six orangutans rescued across two operations on 4 and 8 September, carried out jointly by the Ministry of Forestry, BKSDA West Kalimantan and our partners, YIARI. And he is far from alone. FIFTEEN orangutans have now needed rescuing because of the wildfires in just one month. 🔥 Please donate via the sticker or the link in our bio. Your donation can help provide the veterinary care, rescue equipment, transport and skilled people on the ground needed to respond when orangutans are threatened by fire. The fires are still burning. More orangutans may still need help." has 953,784 views, 138,072 likes, 2,489 comments, 6,715 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
