Video insights

@homealone.671's TikTok video "The iconic Home Alone house in Winnetka, Illinois looks almost unrecognisable today compared to how it appeared in the 1990 classic. Back in 1990, the home was styled with warm wallpaper, deep reds, patterned carpets, and that famous staircase that became the backdrop of some of the film's most memorable scenes. The interiors matched the era perfectly? cosy, colourful, and filled with character, capturing the charm of a real suburban family home. Fast forward to 2024, and the same house has been completely modernised. The bold colours and busy patterns have been replaced with a clean, minimalist look: white walls, open spaces, modern fixtures, and a brighter, more contemporary feel. The staircase remains, but the aesthetic has shifted entirely, reflecting how interior design trends have changed over the last three decades. Even with the updates, the house is still instantly recognisable, a piece of movie history that's been brought into the present while holding onto the memories that made it famous. #homealone #christmas #chicago #kevinmccallister #homealonehouse" has 734,422 views, 21,237 likes, 490 comments, 1,241 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
