@lori_ilc's TikTok video "we’ve officially entered the ‘ber months and I’m starting with these apple cider cinnamon roll donuts 🤎 fried, fluffy, swirled with cinnamon sugar filling, and coated in even more cinnamon sugar ✨ Apple Cider Cinnamon Roll Donuts Apple Cider Dough: 1 cup apple cider ½ cup milk 2¼ tsp active dry yeast 4 cups all-purpose flour ¼ cup granulated sugar 1 tsp salt 10 tbsp unsalted butter (softened & cubed) 2 large eggs Filling: ½ cup unsalted butter (softened) ¾ cup brown sugar 1 tbsp ground cinnamon ¼ tsp ground nutmeg Frying & Coating: Neutral oil (for frying, 2 inches deep) Cinnamon sugar (for coating) • 1 cup granulated sugar • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon Instructions Make the dough: -Add the apple cider to a saucepan over medium-high heat and simmer until reduced to ½ cup. Transfer to a bowl and let cool completely. -Sprinkle the yeast over the warm milk and let sit for 5–10 minutes, until foamy. -In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cubed butter and work it into the flour with your hands or a pastry cutter. -Add the cooled apple cider reduction, and yeast mixture, and lightly beaten eggs to the bowl. Using a stand mixer, mix on low until a dough forms. -Increase speed and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic (10 minutes by hand) -Cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1- 1.5 hours. Filling: -In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined and spreadable. Shape the donuts: -Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle about ¼-inch thick. -Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough, all the way to the edges. -Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into 12 long, even strips. -Starting at one end of each strip, roll it up tightly into a spiral, tucking the end underneath to secure it. -Place the shaped donuts on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover with a towel, and let them rest for about 20 minutes. Fry & Coat: -Heat neutral oil to 350°F. Carefully fry the donuts in batches until golden brown on both sides, flipping as needed. -Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate or wire rack to drain, then immediately toss in cinnamon sugar while they’re still warm. Enjoy! 🤎 #applecider #cinnamonrolls #donutrecipe #fallbaking ##cooldesserts" has 39,142 views, 4,313 likes, 72 comments, 772 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
