Video insights

@lissywithcars's TikTok video "Interesting fact: When a young Robert Downey Jr. visited Wall Street in 1992, he seemed genuinely horrified by the atmosphere he encountered. The future Iron Man star was taken onto a trading floor during the chaotic era of shouting brokers, ringing phones and enormous amounts of money changing hands, and footage of the visit shows him looking increasingly overwhelmed by the intensity surrounding him. Rather than appearing impressed by the wealth and power associated with Wall Street, Downey seemed fascinated and slightly disturbed by how aggressively everyone was competing. What makes the old footage so entertaining today is seeing one of Hollywood's future biggest stars looking completely out of his element. Trading floors of that era were notoriously loud and frantic compared with today's far more electronic markets, so walking into one could feel like entering organised chaos. Downey's reactions make the clip feel almost like a comedy sketch-except everyone around him is completely serious. Decades before he played billionaire Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr. got an up-close look at people chasing enormous amounts of money and appeared to decide the whole thing was absolutely insane." has 4,161 views, 85 likes, 1 comments, 20 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
