Video insights

@mikailadancer's TikTok video "This was genuinely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done. All the locals gather around for 2 weeks in vestmannaeyjar Island, Iceland to save the baby pufflings! They leave their burrows for the first time and their instinct is to follow the moon to the ocean but they get very confused by the city lights mistaking those for the moon… so they fly into the city where they will unfortunately die and/or get ate by wildlife. The locals all make it their mission between 10pm-3am for 2 weeks to rescue as many disoriented pufflings as they can! You catch them in a box, keep them overnight, then the next day you take them to the rescue to make sure they’re healthy, (if they’re not the rescue will keep them to help them) and then u take them to the cliff to give them a little boost and release them into the ocean for their very first time where they will then carry on to have a long beautiful life🥹 it was such an honor to be a part of this. I will say though, I got attached to these babies so fast, it broke my heart to let them go. Just so sad to think about how I’ll never see my baby again☹️ but I’m so happy that I got to be a part of giving them a second chance at life! They’re such beautiful and sweet birds. #puffins #pufflings #vestmannaeyjar #westmanislands #iceland" has 18,642 views, 455 likes, 22 comments, 24 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
