Number 3 is massive 🗽 Visiting New York in summer? Here are the NYC travel tips I wish more people knew before going in July or August 🇺🇸 New York in summer isn’t a bad idea. Doing New York in summer exactly the same way you’d do it in October is. ☀️ Plan your day around the New York heat. Do your outdoor sightseeing early in the morning or later in the evening and save the hottest part of the day for somewhere indoors. 🌉 Brooklyn Bridge: go early. There’s very little shade on the bridge, so walking it around midday in the summer heat can be brutal. Early morning is cooler, less busy and better for photos. 🌿 The High Line: same again. There isn’t loads of shade, so I’d avoid making this your middle-of-the-day activity. 🏛️ When it gets really hot, use the afternoon for Grand Central Terminal, museums, shopping, lunch or other indoor New York attractions, then get back outside later. 💧 Water in New York: you’re going to need loads of it. Around busy tourist areas, some street sellers don’t display the price of bottled water, so make sure you ask how much it is before buying. Walk a block or two away from the biggest New York tourist attractions and you can often find cheaper water, or grab a larger bottle from somewhere like CVS. Basically: outdoor New York in the morning, air conditioning in the afternoon, back outside in the evening. New York City in July and August can be brilliant. You just need to plan for the heat.
