The press pulls a bike cable through a tube bumping a counterweighted seesaw that launches him up. Then there's a little wedge with two sliding pawls that make it a single tap, so you can't just hold the button down and cheat. One press only gets you one jump like the real game. ••• This was nowhere near my first version though. I tried a solenoid, a four-bar linkage, a vertical slider, and a bunch of counterbalance setups that either floated him or wouldn't let him jump at all.
