Video insights

@scriptlessness's TikTok video "A learned doctor sets out on pilgrimage to Mecca on a thin mare. When the mare collapses in the forest, a hyena offers to eat the mare, gain strength, and carry the doctor the rest of the way. She eats the mare and never returns. A jackal finds the doctor stranded, gathers all the horse gear, drops each piece along the path to the hyena's den, lures the hyena out with a false invitation involving a fat cow, places the gear on her by stages as they walk, mounts her, and delivers her at speed to the doctor's feet. The doctor rides the hyena all the way to Mecca without dismounting. At Mecca he gives the hyena to some boys with strict instructions. The boys disobey, the hyena escapes into the bush. The doctor emerges from the mosque to find nothing. He stands in the golden light of Mecca and smiles: he has arrived, he has prayed, whatever carried him here God used. He walks home on foot, taking thirty days. The proverb closes: God provides the vehicle, not always the one you expected. #hausafolktales #hausa #nigeria #ghanatiktok🇬🇭 #folktale" has 7,567 views, 445 likes, 4 comments, 9 shares in the public metrics captured by this index.
