Today was supposed to be a big step in our RIVF journey to determine the perfect implantation area in 3.5 weeks.. We went in for our trial transfer full of hope. However, during the procedure, the nurses discovered a very large polyp sitting deep inside my cervix. Most polyps grow on the outside, but mine is tucked right on the inside, which is typically rare and difficult to detect (even in a pap). If we were to move forward with our fresh transfer this cycle (which the medical team would not allow) it would likely harm our little embryo 😔 The nurses + doctors feel it’s safest to pause and remove it before continuing. Our hearts are shattered. We left the clinic devastated and overwhelmed. 💔 I don’t feel ready to talk much more about it for some time (besides what’s in this post) but we’ve gotten so many loving messages and questions about how today went and what our process is looking like and we wanted to share what we can for now without it impacting our mental/emotional state. We’re not giving up. We’re going to keep pushing, keep hoping, and keep trying for our little piece of heaven. Surgery is next, and then we start again - stronger, softer, and even more determined.
