@qmissmyanmar92_fanのTikTok動画「##🔴Thailand 🇹🇭 Myanmar 🇲🇲 Breaking News‼️🚨 Scarlet Heart Thailand Movie Series used Myanmar’s culture. Need Attention 🚨 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐬 𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲. Of course, neighboring countries often share cultural similarities. Geography, history, trade, and centuries of interaction naturally influence the ways people dress, celebrate, and express their identities. For example, traditional clothing across Middle Eastern countries often shares similar features. Likewise, many Asian countries have traditional garments with similar designs. However, **similarities do not mean that two cultures are identical.** Each culture has its own distinctive characteristics that set it apart from others. When a culture's traditional attire is reproduced almost identically to that of another culture, despite having different cultural origins and identities, it raises concerns about cultural copying. As an International Relations (IR) student, I support cultural exchange, but not culture copying. After all, every culture is uniquely beautiful precisely because of its distinctive characteristics. We should accept and love our own cultures for their authentic identities and inherent beauty. Why do we need to incorporate elements of other cultures into our own already beautiful cultural heritage to make it look more aesthetically pleasing? Doing so may undermine the uniqueness of our own cultural identity. Please learn to love your own authentic identity and show respect for your cultural roots. **Your own culture is already beautiful.** Every culture carries its own history, symbolism, and distinctive characteristics. When we reproduce another culture's traditional attire or heritage as though it represents our own, without properly acknowledging its origins, we risk crossing the line between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation. For example, the inclusion of the oil-lamp dance in the series *Scarlet Heart Thailand* raises concerns about cultural representation and respect for its origins. The oil-lamp dance, known as **“Si-mee-khwk A Ka,”** originates from my own ethnic group, the Rakhine people, one of the eight major ethnic groups in Myanmar. As a people who deeply respect and worship the Lord Buddha, we have a long-standing tradition of paying homage to the Buddha with lighted oil lamps held in our palms on important Buddhist occasions. This practice carries profound religious and cultural significance for our community. Therefore, using this cultural tradition merely as an aesthetic scene to entertain male characters, without adequately researching or acknowledging its cultural and religious roots, raises serious concerns about whether our heritage is being represented respectfully. **So, why am I speaking about this now?** What makes this issue particularly personal to me is the inclusion of the oil-lamp dance, a cultural heritage deeply connected to my Rakhine identity, as well as the use of traditional clothing associated with Myanmar's Taungoo period without proper acknowledgment of its origins. This may leave audiences with the impression that these cultural elements originate from Thailand rather than Myanmar. For me, and for many people in Myanmar, this is not simply about a dance or a dress. It is about the history, identity, and cultural meaning carried by traditions passed down through generations. I believe that genuine regional harmony begins with mutual recognition, honesty, and respect. We can appreciate Thai culture without losing sight of Myanmar culture. We can celebrate cultural exchange without erasing cultural origins. And we can be good neighbors without claiming one another's identities. 🇲🇲🤝🇹🇭 My message is simple: **Love your own culture. Respect the culture of others.** And when you celebrate another community's heritage, please consider giving credit to the people who have preserved it and kept it alive.
