And no, this time I am not talking about the new stadium on the Pakistan side. The famous Wagah Border ceremony near Lahore, Pakistan, is what I consider one of the most spectacular border crossings in the world! 🔥 For decades, the Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force have performed their famous flag-lowering ceremony here. Thousands of people cheering, soldiers showing their strength, incredible patriotism on both sides and a very unique atmosphere! 🇵🇰🇮🇳 But there was always one special moment at the end… The gates would open, the flags would come down and soldiers from Pakistan and India would shake hands before closing the gates again. 🫱🏼🫲🏽 I’ve visited Wagah Border ritual several times now, but this time something was different! THE GATES NEVER OPENED! 😳 No handshake, no interaction between the soldiers! Why is that? I find it pretty sad to be honest. 💔🇮🇳🇵🇰🫱🏼🫲🏽 Despite their differences, that simple handshake was always a powerful moment to witness. I really hope to see it return one day!
