Analyse de la vidéo

La vidéo TikTok de @antonia_investing « Your payslip might be safe this Budget. What you own might not be. The tax cut I talk about in the video is the reported rise in the personal allowance, the amount you can earn before paying income tax, from £12,570 to £15,570. Even its supporters put the cost at £20bn to £30bn a year. The government has promised not to raise the rates of income tax, VAT or National Insurance for workers. With borrowing costs at multi-decade highs, the pressure falls on property, inheritance, investments and targeted sector taxes instead. Here’s what’s being discussed, though none of it is confirmed: • lowering the planned high-value homes charge in England from £2 million to £1.5 million • stretching the seven-year inheritance tax gift rule to ten years • changing how capital gains are treated on death • doubling machine games duty on betting shops The tax rises on that list that come with estimates add up to less than £3bn. According to the government, the triple lock is not being scrapped. Burnham’s social care plans are also being saved for the next general election rather than this Budget. The figures cover different years, so treat them as a sense of scale, not a forecast. If you’re thinking about gifting, selling property or restructuring investments ahead of 28 October, speak to a regulated financial or tax adviser before acting on speculation. Which of these would hit your household hardest? Tell me below.
