Das TikTok-Video „Google Maps can now find you cheaper petrol. It can’t find you this £5.82. Fuel duty is 52.95p a litre. VAT at 20% is then charged on the full pump price, duty included. That’s 10.6p a litre in tax on a tax, or £5.82 on a 55-litre tank. The new Fuel Finder prices on Google Maps and Waze are worth using. The government estimates shopping around could save drivers about £40 a year. The VAT on duty takes that back in roughly seven fill-ups.
